Removing Your Name from Search Engines
Did you ever try to Google your own name in the search engine? If there are some results which you would prefer not to appear, there are several things you can do. Unfortunately, none of them guarantee your name being removed. Here are some steps you can take:
1. Contact the person who wrote information about you, by sending him an email found on his site. Take into account, that not all people display their email. If this is the case, try to contact that person in some other way. If this will not be possible, you will have to learn to live with it.
2. If the first method failed, use whois.domaintools.com to find contact information provided by the hosting company about the person who wrote about you. This is a more reliable method and can be used to obtain info about a person you are looking for.
3. Trying to outrank pages that display information about you by creating a profile page. You can use services like linkedin.com or plaxo.com. It might be a good idea if the previous methods fail. Such profile pages tend to rank high in search engines, and will give you the edge over those who wrote about you on their websites.
