CD Rates
Some of you might have heard the term certificate of deposit before, especially if you have ever thought about investing money. The term certificate of deposit is often abbreviated to CD. If you ever see this abbreviation somewhere, then you will know what it stands for. CDs are one of the financial products available on the market to everybody who wishes to invest money. To the untrained eye, certificates of deposit might seem to be just another form of savings accounts. The reality is that there are some differences between certificates of deposits and savings accounts. A person looking for ways to invest in CDs should always look for the best cd rates available at any given time. The main difference between savings accounts and CDs is that CDs have a much different timetable. While you might not be required to deposit any money while creating a savings account, you will always need to deposit some initial investment if you decide to invest in CDs. The amount of money you decide to deposit has to stay on your account for a fixed amount of time. You cannot withdraw it before that time elapses. For this reason, CD interest rates are much higher than savings account rates banks offer.
